Have an amazing fall weekend!

This weekend, I am looking forward to bright blue skies, warm sun-filled afternoons, long shadows from golden evening rays, fiery pink sunsets and extra cold nights that make for extra crisp mornings. Tonight my mom and I are going to have a fire in her chiminea in the backyard and make s'mores. Yum! Saturday, my uncle is taking us to an Apple Smash party. We will enjoy the fall weather and help make fresh-pressed cider out of the gorgeous, world-famous Washington apples. Sunday night, I'm thinking of making a sage-y beef stew. What are you doing this weekend? Is the weather beautiful where you are?

Here are a few things that caught my eye this week.

We just received our beautiful free trial

Have a sweet weekend.

This week was a busy and stressful week in our house. Coco has been teething mercilessly and it's made for difficult nights for everyone. Poor baby! She's getting closer to walking every day and her favorite thing lately is climbing the stairs. I still can't believe she is almost one year old. What a precious, sweet time it has been. And (much to my surprise) it just keeps getting better all the time. :) What are you doing this weekend? I'm hoping to do some knitting and we want to take advantage of the perfect fall weather with a few walks.

A few things that caught my eye this week below.

Our Friday night dinner (with quinoa instead of white rice!).

Hot pink will keep winter cheerful!

I'm obsessed with this emerald hue right now.

Number 2 describes our house lately.

It's all about the drugstore mascara.

Interesting debate on girls and women.

I have to get Coco this darling playtime bib.

With winter coming up, this is a particularly gorgeous book.

And, just in case you missed it, my guest post on momfilter!

See you all back here Monday! xo

Have a gorgeous weekend!

This weekend I'm in the mood to cook, so we are eating lots of excellent food and enjoying one last summer weekend. It's a three-day weekend for Joel because of a local holiday involving bows and arrows and children. Last year a girl won! We plan to relax, swim and kiss summer goodbye with love. What are you doing? Is the weather forecast good where you are?

Here is a little sampling of what caught my eyes (and ears) this week.

Tonight's dinner, which J calls an Italian cheeseburger! ;) Don't skip the cream.

Sorry fall, summer's back

A beautiful song to make you think.

I've really been wondering about this. Poor baby!

Omgosh. I'm addicted!

Fantastic episode that will have you laughing out loud.

I just signed up for two free online classes! #thanksbing

Sometimes we find what we're meant to do a little bit later than most

Not helping my Mexican food obsession!

Have a cozy weekend.

As of today, it's rainy, cold and grey in Zurich, so we are planning to stay snuggly and warm inside pretty much all weekend. I want to start working on Coco's photo book of her first year (sniff!) and maybe we will even have a fire. Today I hear the radiators clanking, which is hard to believe considering yesterday still felt like summer. I hope it's just a bit of bad weather, but I'm afraid fall may already be here. Summer, why do you always go by so quickly? Oh well. :)

Here's what caught my eye this week. See you back here Monday! xo

Shake your tail feather to this song and beat the cold weather blues.

Remembering Neil Armstrong in photos.

I'm ordering this the moment I land on US soil!

This looks better than our current model for snuggling and watching a movie.

Encouraging for parents like J and me.

Candle season is upon us.

Can't wait to get these for our little eater.

Now every morning I have a frog for the day.

Shivers up and down my spine!

Scandinavian Design meets Louis XIV?

A little fancy sparkle to wear with jeans and a black tee.

The truth about marriage. (And you thought you knew! ;)

Have a splendid weekend.

What are your plans this weekend? Tonight I'm going for my first private Pilates lesson (recommended by my massage therapist) to strengthen my stomach muscles post pregnancy. Yikes! I'll definitely let you know how it goes. On Saturday we have our family photos with local Zurich photographer Jana Manja. We can't wait to have some professional shots of the three of us all together! Then on Sunday we have friends and their baby girl coming for lunch. I'm making Mexican and I can't wait! :) I hope you enjoy your weekend wherever you are. Here are a few links that caught my eye this week.

To keep the towels off the floor.

I'm absolutely in love with these birthstone studs.

If I only I could feel this way about Coco.

I love a good biography.

I read this just after I had written this and burst into tears!

Biggest perk of living in Europe? Series Three starts in September, not January!

Baking these as soon as humanly possible.

Not sure what I think of this pop of gold.

Love this man and his fiery spirit!

See you back here Monday! xo

Deathly Ill

I'm sick as can be with a nasty head cold. Luckily I have this little sweetie to hang out with. I had no idea how I could possibly be sick and still take care of her, but I had nothing to worry about, really. She's surprisingly empathetic and understanding for eight months old. We underestimate babies, I'm afraid!
If this is what Coco had last week, I feel so sorry for the little sweetie! This is the worst headache I've ever had and it pains me to think that I stopped giving her paracetamol after her fever went away. Poor baby!

We had a surprisingly wonderful day together, all things considered. I learned today that she is happy just to be near me, even if I'm flat on my back and miserable. She played with her basket of toys and chirped and talked while I dozed nearby. And then we had two very long, very snuggly, very cozy naps together. I love being with my baby girl. Thank you, Coco, for being so loving and sweet. xo

Have a great weekend and see you back here Monday.

Photography Fridays

I have a little idea. Since I got my new camera, I've been taking a lot of photos. So every Friday, I'll post some recent photos from the week, or this week the past few weeks, and share them with you. Won't it be fun to watch them improve as time goes on? (At least they should! ;)

This weekend marks the beginning of J's spring holidays, so we are excited to have him home for the next two weeks. Sunday he's running the Zurich Marathon, which means we'll definitely head out to see him, rain or shine. And, sadly, it's looking like rain. Boo.

A rainy weekend means I'll be taking more oil baths, reading more of my book and working on Coco's legwarmers. Throw in some Earl Grey with cream and honey, and I guess it's not so bad.
I hope your weekend is lovely wherever it takes you and whatever weather you find there. See you back here Monday! xo
